Inisiasi Matching Fund Dosen Arsitektur bekerjsama dengan Time Amsterdam Belanda

Dosen Program Studi Arsitektur, Fakultas Teknik, 17 Agustus 1945 (UNTAG) Surabaya, Dr. Ir. Ar. R. A. Retno Hastijanti, M.T., IPU., IAI., APEC. Eng., melalui Pusat Studi Ketahanan Iklim dan Kota (PSKIK) yang dikelolanya, menginisiasi kegiatan Hibah Matching Fund yang berkolaborasi dengan Organisasi Komunitas Sejarah dari negeri Belanda Times Amaterdam. Bersama dengan rekan-rekan Komumitas Pengamat Sejarah Kota Surabaya "Begandring Soerabaia", mengadakan kegiatan utama menjadikan situs makam peneleh dan kampung sebagai "Living Library".

A conversation with Retno Hastijanti and Nanang Purwono about progress of
Project Makam Peneleh as a Living Library
As part of an intensive workshop week in Surabaya, Petra Timmer (PT) and Max Meijer (MM)
discussed the progress of the project so far. Discussion partners were two leading heritage activists
in the East Java metropolis, Mrs. Retno Hastijanti (member of Begandring Soerabaia and Lecturer
at the Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 (UNTAG), Surabaya) and Mr. Nanang Purwono (Member of
Begandring Soerabaia and project leader of the project Makam Peneleh as a Living Library). It was
an open conversation, actually much more a dialogue than an interview. We questioned and
discussed the Indonesian and Dutch heritage perspectives. It turned out as an optimistic meeting
of minds with a joint dream: that the former colonial cemetery will become a truly inclusive space
in Surabaya. Based on a sense of ownership and belonging by local communities and other
stakeholders… The transcription is reproduced below in the form of an interview, which took place
May 31 2024 at the Kokoon Hotel Surabaya, in the old Chinese trading district near Kembang
Jepun.
